Two photographs of Hilton Parris Mize wearing his U. S. Army uniform. Mize graduated from Highland College in 1936, and taught in rural schools from 1936 to 1942. On November 16, 1942, he was inducted into the Army and served until his discharge on November 30, 1945. Mize was a member of the 413th regiment of the 104th Infantry Division, known as the Timberwolves, and they participated in several campaigns in northern France, central Europe and the Rhineland. Mize was discharged as a staff sergeant.
