A drawing titled "Last Break in Abilene" showing outlaw and gunfighter John Wesley Hardin jumping from a balcony of the American House Hotel into a carriage below. The incident occurred while Hardin was staying at the hotel. Hardin became enraged when he was disturbed by the loud snoring of a man in the next room. He fired several bullets into the man's room, killing him as he slept. Hardin was forced to flee from Abilene before town marshal James Butler "Wild Bill" Hickok, could arrest him for the murder.
