This black and white photograph shows the Topeka Capital-Journal building at 616 S.E. Jefferson Street in Topeka, Kansas. The building housed the publications of the "Topeka Daily Capital" and the "Topeka State Journal" under the ownership of Oscar S. Stauffer. In 1981, declining circulations merged the two papers into the "Topeka Capital-Journal" to become the city's daily newspaper.
