A photograph of Kansas Governor Mike Hayden in a field with members of the Kansas Army National Guard during summer camp at Fort Riley, Kansas. Governor Hayden, a decorated Army officer was born in Atwood, Kansas, entering politics in 1962. Hayden held office as governor of Kansas from 1987 to 1991. Afterwards, he moved to Washington D. C. returning to Kansas in 2002, as the Secretary of Wildlife and Parks.
