The photograph shows what is believed to be the acceptance test of Garden City, Finney County, Kansas' new 500 gallon pumper purchased in 1927. It is being tested at the city's huge swimming pool in the winter. The truck was in service until 1962, when it was retired and replaced by a new 1,000 gallon pumper. Also visible in the background of the photograph is the old diving board.
