Atchison Kans March 17th 1885

 

Whereas in the late strike between the Rail Road Company and its Employer for an

adjustment of wages Govenor John. A. Martin Exerted himself in behalf of Labor and

 

Whereas- it is the first instance in the history of strikes that a Govenor was found on the

 

side of Labor and unbiased by Capital and

 

Whereas This Club is composed mostly of Laboring men be it therefore Resolved [strike out: thanks]that the thanks of this Club be and the same we hereby [Tendered] to Govenor John. A. Martin for the manly way in which he settled the late strikes in favor of Labor.

 

Resolved-That our secretary be instructed to forward a copy of these resolutions to Govenor John. A. Martin and that the daily papers be requested to publish these resolutions
