Mattie B. Hale to Lucy Johnston

Item Description Bookbag Share

My dear Mrs Johnston:
I returned from 7th Dist meeting Friday The resolution we passed will surely go straight to your heart for I assure you it was no half hearted affair, even the one attached to Mrs [Grimstead's] paper was mild compared to the one your humble servant offered I am sure Dist Club women are for suffrage & will be ready to help the cause along next year. Oh yes we acted on your suggestion & had a sort of jollification over Cali.' victory by giving a few reasons for being in favor of ?wimen voten? - was sorry Mrs Grimstead was not present; her paper was good & was read very well, but you know one can do better with one's own subject. What methods are to be used in conducting our campaign English or American? Hope you had a fine trip
Sincerely Mattie B. Hale.
