Dear Loving Mother.
Hello mama how are you? am well and hope you all are the same. mama am just getting along fine. and am getting use to the French Language. are am trying my best to learn it. mama the people here in this Village where we stay are sure fine people. and we all like them. and they sure do treat us fine. mama you ought to see this country. it sure is beautiful and you ought to see the flowers and different kinds of Roses that

grow here. it sure is beautiful thats all. all the houses here mama have flowers of all kinds growing all around them. Eevery where you look you just see flowers and flowers. mama we sure have a fine place to stay in these houses. the children sure do like us boys. they are always around us and trying to teach us to speak French. mama I went to church twice today and went to communion this morning. mama the church is sure swell inside I sure wish you could have seen it. it is painted inside like ours. and mama the singing was sure swell. I thought I was home when I was there. mama I am going to church as much as I can. I hope we stay here because it sure is a swell place and they have a good size church.

mama how is everything at home I sure hope you can make it along all right till I come back. which I hope wont be long. how is papa anyway? I sure hope that he is getting along all right. and Louie and Ralph and Rose. I sure hope they are working steady and having good times. I sure hope Matts little girl is all right and getting bigger. and Buster I guess he is a good size boy by this time. mama are they still takeing some of the neighbor boys for the Army yet? how about the machine mama is it all paid out yet? I sure hope that you are getting along on your bills. mama are

still getting your allotement if you aint write and tell me. mama how is Miss Moore anyway? tell her to write to me.
