An informal portrait of Rafael Lopez and his daughter Carmen in Wichita, Kansas. Carmen is shown holding a small dog. An immigrant to the United States from Mexico, Lopez served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War, and he later worked as a civil service barber at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita. Beginning in 1963, the Lopez family owned and operated Connie's Mexico Cafe in Wichita.
