This is a photograph of Picken Hall on the campus of Fort Hays University in Hays, Kansas. The hall was built in 1904 and renamed in 1911 after William S. Picken, the school's first administrator. Over the years, the building has served as graduate and personnel offices, the affirmative action office, the Docking Institute of Public Affairs, and the campus post office.
