This undated photograph captures a large dust storm about to hit this family's homestead. These storms were frequent occurrences in western Kansas during the 1930s Dust Bowl.
Date: Around 1935
This works with a variety of sources as a visual of how severe these dust storms could be; it can serve as a before picture to be compared with other visuals of the dust left behind by these storms.
