This is a view of uniformed boys standing at the foot of their beds in the small boy's dormitory ward at the Haskell Institute (now Haskell Indian Nations University) in Lawrence, Kansas. When this photograph was taken, sometime during the late 1800s or early 1900s, Haskell Institute provided education and vocational training to Native American students at the elementary and secondary level.
