The publication promoted Populist ideas that came to be part of the Progressive movement. It also includes some religious rhetoric. The September 1902 issue includes a "plebiscite ballot" and a return envelope addressed to Jas. Lathrop, Oakland, Shawnee County, Kansas. Readers were to express their options on various Populist/Progressive ideas so that their wishes would be known. The editor was Jas. H. Lathrop and it was published in Topeka, Kansas. The first issue includes a report from the State Convention of the Allied People's Party/Populist Party of Kansas that was held at the Fifth Avenue Hotel in Topeka on August 21, 1902.
