Constitution of the Sumner Company, written by John J. Ingalls. It was adopted April 3, 1857. There are 17 articles and states that the object of this company is to build upon and improve a town site, situated upon the Missouri River on section 20, township 6 south, range 21 east of the 6th PM. The town site is is named in honor of the Hon. Charles Sumner, Senator from Massachusetts.
