This catalog was published by Avery Manufacturing Company advertising their engines, threshers, self feeders, pneumatic straw stackers, water tanks, and farm machinery. All of the pages of the catalog have illustrations and text about the equipment being advertised. There is an index on page 64 and the front and back covers are in color. The company was located in Peoria, Illinois, but it is assumed the catalog was distributed to Kansas farmers.

Seven adults and one child are in the photograph, but the only ones identified are Sarah Lister Pratt, Anne Pratt Taylor, and Charles Taylor. Also in the photo are a two-story barn with cupola, wooden windmill, haystack, three horses and wagons in the farmyard.

This photograph shows Frank Clare's children as they were going to school in Finney County, Kansas. Maude Elliott could have ridden with them instead of walking the two or three miles each way, but she found it more relaxing to walk. She did ride with them a time or two, but the two older children quarreled the whole time and she had to hold the smaller child on her lap. She also had work to do after school and in cold weather went early to make a fire so it was easier to walk.

This collection consists of 326 photographs taken by G. C. (Golden Charles) Dresher of Canton, McPherson County, Kansas. The photos mostly concern the Dresher family, their friends and the surrounding area. Photographs of McPherson College students and the flooding of Cow Creek are also included. Dorothy May (Dresher) Richards, the daughter of G. C. Dresher, donated the original glass plate negatives to the Kansas Historical Society in 1999.
