This flyer advertises the dates that the Chicago, Rock Island, and Pacific Railroad Company "Wheat Festival Special" will visit numerous Kansas towns along its route. It will in Kansas August 2 through 7, 1926. The train is operated in cooperation with the Kansas Agricultural College, the Kansas State Board of Agriculture, the Kansas State Grain Inspection Department, the Southwestern Wheat Improvement Association, the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and the Kansas Public Service Commission. The flyer lists speakers and their topics. Miss Vada Watson, the Kansas Wheat Queen, is one of the "special attractions" accompanying the train. A. W Large is in charge of the train for the railroad company.

This Wheat Festival Special was operated by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Company. It traveled throughout Kansas July 19-July 30, 1926, to numerous Kansas communities. Other organizations that cooperated to operate the train included the following: The Kansas State Agricultural College, the Kansas State Board of Agriculture, The Kansas State Grain Inspection Department, the Southwestern Wheat Improvement Association and the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, under authority of the Kansas Public Service Commission. The flyer lists the speakers and their topics. Miss Vada Watson, the Kansas Wheat Girl, was one of the special attractions.

These reports of the Kansas State Mine Inspector mostly concern coal mining, though by 1929 the scope of the reports broadens to include metal mines. The content of individual reports will vary. The reports address mining laws and mining districts; industry production and earnings; fatal and non-fatal accidents; accident investigations and transcripts of oral interviews; labor strikes; mine locations; mining companies and operators; and proceedings of mining conventions. The reports document the political, economic, social, and environmental impacts of more than seventy years of mining in southeastern Kansas.
