The Opera House/Haller Motor Company, Alma, Kansas

The Opera House/Haller Motor Company, Alma, Kansas
Date: Between 1940 and 1949
This is a photograph of a building that, originally, was the Alma opera house. Later, it was rebuilt and refaced and the stage was removed to become Haller Motor Company. It was only one year that Haller's sold anything except Chevrolets. One year, new cars were delivered off the rail by mistake and rather than return them, Haller's sold Fords for one year. Maxine Haller recalls this one year with the "Ford" sign on the dealership building (old opera house), as noted in this photo. Several men and one woman are posed in front of the building.
