This is a photograph of Kansas farmers posed with Senators Charles Curtis and Arthur Capper on the capitol steps in Washington, D.C. The farmers signed up for a two-week tour sponsored by the Kansas Farmer and featured visits to industrial plants and historic sites. Thirty-two farmers signed up for the tour. The group left November 27 by Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe passenger train. They made stops in Chicago, IL; Detroit, MI; Windsor, Canada; Buffalo, New York; Schenectady, New York; New York, New York; Philadelphia, PA; Akron, OH; and Washington, D.C. The group spent three days in Washington.

This is a photograph showing (left to right) United States Senator Arthur Capper, Nancy Landon (Kassebaum), and her father Kansas Governor Alfred M. Landon on a merry-go-round. Capper held his annual birthday party for the children in Garfield Park in Topeka, Kansas. Children were invited to ride the trolley system for free to Garfield Park and then partake in the amusements and refreshments.
