Many of the photographs show business districts and buildings. The panoramics were created by taking individual photos and taping them together. Towns and cities included in this part of the collection are: Leavenworth, Ludell, Luray, Lyndon, Lyons, Manchester, Manter, Marion, Mayetta, McCune, McDonald, McFarland, McPherson, Medicine Lodge, Melvern, Menlo, Meriden, Merriam, Milan, Miltonvale, Mission, Moline, Monument, Morganville, Morrill, Moscow, Mulberry, Mullinvale, Mulvane, Munden, Narka, Natoma, Nekoma, Neodesha, Neosho Falls, Neosho Rapids, Netawaka, New Albany, Newton, Nicodemus, Norcatur, Norton, Nortonville, and Norway. Photos of courthouses are included for several communities. Some of the photos of communities show churches, grain elevators, water towers, parks, public/government buildings, railroad depots and tracks, and residences. There are some aerial photographs for McFarland and Melvern.

This collection consists of 7 volumes of records from the Kansas State Temperance Union. The first volume lists the members and the dues they paid by local organization. The index lists the communities that have members listed and these communities have been included in the categories. Note: other communities are listed elsewhere in the records, particularly the speaker expenses volume. The second volume is the cash book (expense journal) for the years 1901-1904. Volumes three through five are the cash books for 1907-1910, 1909-1910, and 1910-1911. Volume 6 contains speaker expenses and contribution from the communities where they spoke, listed by name of speaker. Several speakers are listed. Volume 7 is an expense journal for 1907-1911. There are also some loose papers inserted into the volumes, mostly correspondence and form letters.

The Lime Special was operated by the Santa Fe Railway in cooperation with the Kansas State Agricultural College and the Kansas State Board of Agriculture. It was scheduled to operate July 9--17, 1928. Five cars of exhibits were available along with a series of lectures. The quote at the bottom of the poster was "MORE LIME, MORE LEGUMES, MORE CROPS, MORE PROFIT."

This file includes correspondence relating to tax exemption for real estate mortgages by law. A letter from E. A. Wagner of Meriden, Kansas, urges Governor Capper to sign a mortgage exemption law which Governor Capper had already done by the time his office received the letter. This is part of a bigger collection of Governor Arthur Capper correspondence.

This newspaper comes from the collections of the Kansas Historical Society and was digitized with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the National Digital Newspaper Program. The Advocate began on August 10, 1889, and became the official organ of the Kansas Farmers' Alliance with the motto "Devoted to the Interests of the Farmer's Alliance and Industrial Union and Other Kindred Organizations." It later served as the leading paper of the People's Party in the state, with phenomenal circulation and commanding influence. The Advocate became the conscience and inspiration of Kansas Populism.
