These are panoramic photographs of locations in Kansas created by the Kansas Film Commission to promote scenes to film companies. The panoramics were created by taking individual photos and taping them together. The photographs are arranged alphabetically by subject and then location. The subject of this part of the collection is businesses, including banks, bars, general stores, food stores, funeral homes, gas stations, hotels, malls, miscellaneous buildings, newspaper offices, restaurants, toy stores, and workshops.

This photograph shows the Missouri-Kansas-Texas depot in Labette, Kansas. The one-story wooden structure was part of the Northern division, Cherokee subdivision, and was located at milepost 395.5. The depot no longer stands.

This atlas shows maps of each township with the names of landowners. It has a patrons' directory, portraits of residents, and plats of towns as of 1906.

Date: between 1896 and 1900
Toy train with engine and two cars. Wood wrapped with chromolithographic paper. "M.K.T. Flyer" on the engine and "Lincoln Park Railroad" on the cars. Cars have removable tops and contain animal blocks. Given as a Christmas present to Irwin E. Smith (1893-1978) by his mother in 1896. Irwin was three years old at the time, and was living on a farm near Labette, Kansas with his widowed mother and two sisters. The MKT Railway ran about a mile from the farm. Made by the R. Bliss Manufacturing Company of Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
