A letter from temperance supporter E. B. Crew of Delphos to Kansas Governor St. John, contending "that the cost of liquors in this State exceeds the expense of the State government", and asks for statistics to help prove his argument. Crew if the Grand Worthy Secretary of the Kansas Independent Order of Good Templars, a temperance organization.

In this letter, G.S. Smith asks Kansas Governor St. John for written confirmation that 97% of prisoners are incarcerated due to alcohol association. Smith, who intends to lecture on temperance, had heard the Governor state this in a recent lecture.

Date: 1875
This is a portrait of Grace Bedell Billings, who sent Abraham Lincoln a letter on October 5, 1860, from Westfield, New York, urging him to grow a beard to improve his appearance. Lincoln responded in a letter on October 19, 1860, making no promises; however, within a month, he grew a full beard. She later married a Union soldier and settled in Delphos, Kansas.

Copy of a Letter from John W. Breidenthal, Chairman People's Party Central Committee, to W.D. Vincent, Populist Nominee for Congress from the Fifth District, Kansas. The letter underscores the Populist Party's need to be united and exercise a concerted effort to defeat the Republican Party as their political rival.
