This is an aerial view of a Wabaunsee County farm identified as the Ralph Houtz farm, located north of Templin School. The caption says it is also known as the Wolgast farm.

The photograph shows an irrigated farm near Garden City, in Finney County, Kansas. It also shows an elevator, silos, and cattle. In the background is a residence and a windmill. The photograph was donated by the Garden City Chamber of Commerce.


Chase County agriculture structures

Date: 1944-1945
These two photographs show a creosote storage tank and a trench silo. The storage tank was owned by the U. S. government and was used for chinch bug control. The capacity of this tank was approximately 12,000 gallons. The trench silo housed an abundance of feed in the fall of 1944. These photographs came from the Chase County Extension Office annual reports.

This black and white photograph shows an advertisement depicting a family tree for the Hoffman mill in Enterprise, Kansas. The branches from the tree show images of grain elevators and the owners Christian Hoffman and his son Christian B. Hoffman. In the lower portion of the advertisement images of mills and illustrations of sacks of flour labeled "Fanchon" are visible.

Silos at the Rogler Ranch

Silos at the Rogler Ranch

This black and white photograph shows a view of two grain silos on the Rogler Ranch. The homestead is located on 160 acres of land along the South Fork of the Cottonwood River basin, in the Bazaar Township of Chase County, Kansas. The Rogler family owned and operated the ranch from 1859 to 2006. In October of 2006 the historic property, which included the home and 4,081 acres of land, was auction off at 6.9 million dollars.
