Iron model used to teach prospective engineers the operation of a steam locomotive. This was used in the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Shops at Dodge City, Kansas. The model was later collected by Charles "Bud" Goebel, whose collection was house at the Santa Fe depot at Burlingame, Kansas from 1963 to 1981, at which time it was donated to the Kansas Museum of History.

This black and white photograph shows the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Company's steam locomotive #3460 the "Blue Goose" pulling the passenger train the "Super Chief" at an unidentified location. The "Hudson" type locomotive built in 1937 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania had a 4-6-4 wheel arrangement. It was scrapped for metal in 1956.

This sepia colored photograph shows a steam locomotive with rail cars and a caboose on the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Company's Canyon Diablo bridge in northern Arizona. Construction on the trestle bridge began in 1880 when the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad Company laid the first set of tracks from Winslow, Arizona to Canyon Diablo. Due to construction and financial difficulties, the project was temporarily put on hold until the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Company took over the task of completing the structure in 1882.

This photograph shows the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Company's Wm B. Strong #2 locomotive. The steam engine was named after the president of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company William Barstow Strong. He served from 1881 to 1889 and developed the Santa Fe into a major transcontinental railway company with the expansion of over 7,000 miles of right-of-way.
