Charles was the pitcher who surrendered Babe Ruth's alleged "called shot" in the 1932 World Series. A collection of photographs taken at Dr. Hertzler's home, known as Crow's Nest. Dr. Hertzler was known for hosting hunts, dinners and other events at the Crow's Nest, as well as taking his favored hospital interns known as Cubs to the house. Cubs where what Dr. Hertzler's referred to his interns at his practice at Halstead Hospital as well as his students when he taught at the University Medical College in Kansas City and the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
