Photograph of Chief Warrant Officer George Johnson holding an award at the 116th reunion of the 9th and 10th Cavalry in Wichita, Kansas. George was given the award for receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross award in 1965 for his service in the Vietnam War. Johnson served in Korea and Japan from 1962 to 1965 and was transferred to Vietnam where he was the first African American to receive the award.

This photograph shows inmates Lawrence Davenport, prisoner #9405 and John Beaucleigh, prisoner #9532. Lawrence Davenport was also known by the aliases Dan Carney, Dan Minnen, E.L. Bennett, E.D. Mahoney and L.D. Mahoney. He was received at the Kansas State Penitentiary on June 9, 1900 from Garfield County, Oklahoma for grand larceny. This was his second term at the penitentiary. John Beaucleigh, also known by the surname spelling Beancleigh, was received at the penitentiary on November 9, 1890 from Sumner County, Kansas under false pretenses.
