This is a transparency showing the Hereford bull mural in the Kansas capitol, painted by John Steuart Curry. In 1937, Curry, from Dunavant in Jefferson County, Kansas, was selected to portray the story of Kansas in murals on the second floor of the capitol. The mural is part of the Kansas Pastoral which is Curry's attempt at showing the romantic side of the agricultural state.

This colored transparency shows the grounds of the Phantom Ranch located on the banks of Angel Creek in the depths of the Grand Canyon in northern Arizona. The pool was later filled in with dirt in 1972.

This is a color transparency showing the Frontiersman and Conquistadors murals on the second floor of the capitol building in Topeka, Kansas. The murals were painted by John Steuart Curry. The Conquistadors mural shows Francisco Vasquez de Coronado, a Spanish explorer, and Father Juan de Padilla, the first Christian martyr in the United States. The Frontiersman mural shows a buffalo hunter.
