Kansas Woman's Christian Temperance Union Frances Willard memorials
Date: 1923-1939
This material relates to memorials for Frances Willard, an American reformer for temperance and women's suffrage. She became president of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union in 1879 and held the position until her death in 1898. The collection includes printed materials relating to the Frances Willard Memorial Fund, Frances Willard Day (September 28th) Citizenship Programs, correspondence of Mary Evelyn Dobbs and Alice K. Nineteenth annual report of the Delaware Boarding School

Date: September 2, 1867
Elisabeth Stevens Morse reports on the situation at the Delaware Boarding School in Kansas to U.S. Indian Agent John Gill Pratt. In the four page letter Morse reports on the "condition and progress" of the Delaware Boarding School. At the time of her report, the school had ninety-six students in attendance.

Reports from the Great Nemaha Agency about Iowas, Kickpoos and Sac and Foxes of Missouri

This document summarizes three reports from Judge B.A. James, Reverend Meeker and [J.]B. [Dueriuck] about Native American tribes within the Great Nemaha Agency. The reports includes interesting details regarding during 1854, including the influx of a large number of white settlers into the area, as well as conflicts between the Sac and Fox tribe and the Osages, Comanches, and Arapahos.

William Daniel Street's report on the last Indian raid

Date: 1879
This report lists the number of people killed and the location of death during the last Indian "raids" in Kansas from September 29th through October 1st of 1878. Street has corrected the Indian Commission report, which stated 32 were killed, noting that after further investigation by a private party, the number was increased to at least 41 dead. The ten additional people killed are recorded here along with the location of death.
