AT & SF Railway conductor's pin
Date: between 1930 and 1940
Curved steel Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway pin for wearing on front of cap. Appears to be from the 1930s. This was part of Charles "Bud" Goebel's railroad museum at the Burlingame, Kansas depot from 1963 to 1981, when it was donated to the Kansas State Historical Society.

Railroad conductor's cap for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, donated by the AT&SF General Offices. Cap has dark blue wool crown, black mesh band, and shiny black synthetic visor. Stamped brass strap secured at sides with brass Santa Fe buttons. According to the AT&SF, this cap dates from the 1950s or 1960s. The latest possible year of use would have been 1971, when the AT&SF ceased passenger service.

It was driven from the Argentine yards near Kansas City, Kansas to Atchison for the city's centennial, June 20-26, 1954. John (Jack) Flanagan, engineer, is standing at the far right.
