U.G. Stewart pictured in his band uniform holding his trombone. U.G. organized a band that played concerts in the bandstand on Saturday nights during the summer months and at other functions when called upon. The bandstand was on the east side of Main Street in Rossville, Kansas. This photograph is provided through a pilot project to host unique cultural heritage materials from local libraries on Kansas Memory and was accomplished by mutual agreement between the Northeast Kansas Library System, the Rossville Community Library, and the Kansas Historical Society.
