A view of the east side of Kansas Avenue from slightly north of Sixth Street in Topeka, Kansas, sometime during the early 1860s. Many of the buildings shown in the photograph were built during the Kansas territorial period. The businesses shown include two meat markets and a saddle and harness maker. The photograph was taken by W. P. Bliss, Photographic Car.
