Reverend Samuel L. Adair wrote from Osawatomie, Kansas Territory, to describe the physical characteristics of Kansas and the efforts being made on behalf of the free state cause in the territory. The letter detailed efforts to establish Congregational churches in Kansas, and described the activities of other denominations.
