This brief letter from Samuel Pomeroy to Thaddeus Hyatt, president of the National Kansas Committee, was written on May 18, 1857, from Boston, Massachusetts. Among other business matters, Pomeroy reports that the two men now own "one half of the 'Squatter Sovereign' (Stringfellows organ)" and "[Robert] McBratney of Ohio owns the other half--We have hoisted a Free State Flag!"
