This woodblock print on white paper represents the Shawnee Chief Ten-squat-a-way, also known as the "Prophet". Born March 1768 in Ohio, he worked with his brother, Tecumseh (1768-1813), to create a pan-tribal confederacy to resist United States encroachment in the Northwest Territory. The print shows the Prophet wearing jewelry and a headdress.
