This shell casing was collected by a Kansas Historical Society archeologist at the Plaster House site in Gray County. The site is possibly a late 19th or early 20th century dugout. It may have been associated with the nearby Soule Canal or an unrelated railroad or ranch occupation. The casing has a head stamp of "Winchester No. 10."
