These three rim sherds were collected from the Fanning site, a protohistoric Kansa village site in Doniphan county. They were collected around the turn of the 19th- to 20th century by two antiquarians and donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 1925. Two of the rim sherds show lace crack holes that were used to repair the vessel when a crack developed. All three rim sherds are from jars and all are shell tempered.
