These four rim sherds from four different ceramic jars were collected around the turn of the 20th century from the Fanning site, a protohistoric Kansa village site in Doniphan County. They were donated in 1925 and 1999. All of the sherds are shell tempered. Two have handles attached below the rim and another has a handle attached at the rim. All three handles are wide strap handles, one of which is decorated with a series of horizontal incised lines.
