Shown are four vessel handles collected from the Fanning site, a protohistoric Kansa village site in Doniphan County, and donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 1925. All four handles are strap style. Both of the handle sherds on the top row are attached below the rim. On one a crack lace can be seen, used to repair the vessel by the owner. The two handle sherds on the bottom row are attached at the rim.
