French Gunflint from Fool Chief's Village - Page

This gunflint was recovered during excavations at Fool Chief's Village, a Kansa village site in Shawnee County. Fool Chief's Village has been the site of several surveys and excavations between 1969 and 2013. This artifact was recovered in 2011 during a Washburn University Field School. The gunflint was quarried and manufactured in France, as is indicated by it's honey-yellow or blonde color. The D-shaped gunflint has a single dorsal arriss.
