These judicial writs of scire facias were issued to Robert Corlew in 1857 and 1858 by the Second District Court of the Kansas Territory. The writs state Corlew failed to appear on May 4, 1857 at the court in Lecompton, Kansas Territory to serve as a juror. A writ of scire facias orders a defendant to appear in court and explain why a judgement, in this case a fine of ten dollars, should not be enforced.
