These legal documents relate to the Kansas Territory's case against Bird Adler for trespass on school lands in Morris County, Kansas Territory in November of 1859. Adler was indicted in November of 1859 for destroying trees and timber, with an estimated cost of $500, on land owned by the United States government used to fund public schools. Adler was ordered to appear before the Second Judicial District Court in Lecompton, Kansas Territory, on October 1st, 1860.
