This is a photograph showing the interior of Mitchell Brothers meat market in Valley Falls, Kansas. James Rayman Mitchell, who started the business and named it Mitchell Meat Market, is the third person from the left and the man wearing an apron is probably one of his sons. When James Rayman Mitchell retired, he turned the business over to his sons. In August of 1910, son Henry Hiram Mitchell sold his part of the business to his brothers Everest S. Mitchell and James Wiley Mitchell and they changed the name to Mitchell Brothers.
