Here are multiple photographs of mining near Pittsburg, Kansas. The Pittsburg mining camp was founded in 1876 specifically to be a center for smelting lead and zinc since it was at the approximate center of what is now known as the Weir-Pittsburg Coal Field. Images include mining equipment, miners, mines, and miscellaneous contracts and paperwork.
