These photographs present three exterior views of the V.A. Kear Sod House Museum, Colby, Thomas County, Kansas. The text on the back of the color postcard reads: "The famous Sod House near Colby, Kans. Built and furnished like the thousands of rugged prairie homes used by the Homesteaders throughout the plains region of North America. Walls 2 feet thick are plastered and whitewashed inside. Roof is covered with sod. Open May to Autumn for visitors--V.A. Kear, manager."
