This small fragment of pottery has a lot of information to share. It was recovered from the surface of a Middle Ceramic period camp site in Saline County and donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 2017. During cataloging it was noticed that the sherd has a surface treatment unusual for Kansas pottery in that it was textile impressed. On the left is the sherd, which has a negative impression of the textile. On the right is a positive cast, which allows a better reconstruction of the original material.

Date: 1000 CE-1500 CE
