Shown are five corner-notched and side-notched dart points among many that were recovered from 14CF411 and donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 2015. The archeological site in Coffey County where they were found was occupied periodically in the Early and Middle Ceramic periods. Dart points were used to hunt game during the early occupations. Dart points would be mounted to the dart foreshaft, which would in turn be connected to the dart shaft. The assembled dart would then be thrown with an atlatl (spearthrower). The three dart points on the left are corner notched and the two on the right are side notched.
