This Archaic period dart point was recovered from 14CW378, a Native American camp site in Crawford County, and donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 1984. The pinkish color of the chert is a result of the flintknapper heat treating the material to improve the chert's knapping qualities. After knapping the dart points were mounted to the dart fore shaft, and then thrown with an atlatl. The dart's tip shows signs of an impact fracture and one of the barb has been damaged.

Date: 8000 BCE - 2000 BCE
