This ceramic pipe fragment was recovered from the surface of a site in Johnson County in what was once the Shawnee Reserve. It is unclear whether the site was a Shawnee farmstead or the Chouteau trading house for the Shawnee. The short stem of pipe, into which a detachable reed was inserted, has embossed cross hatching at the end. Only a small portion of the bowl remains.
