While on one of his two photographic excursions to South Dakota, Louis Palenske photographed the construction of Mount Rushmore. In an unusual instance, Palenske rotated the Korona Panoramic View Camera vertically when he photographed the monument. Notice that workers are sculpting Lincoln's face in this view. Funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission through the Kansas State Historical Records Advisory Board.
