This cast metal pipe tomahawk was donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 1957. The ash handle has traces of the file used to smooth the wood. Three nails were added to the lug end of the handle to help the fit in the eye and the base has a twisted and knotted cord attached. The pipe bowl is decorated with three sets of three lines. The axe is 19" long and the cutting edge is 2 11/16" wide. The cheek of the bit has two holes and traces of etched writing, of which the name "Two Crows" is readily visible. Perhaps it reflects the name of a former owner.
