This paint bag or pouch was made by a member of the Skidi Band of the Pawnee Tribe and was purchased in 1956 by the Kansas Historical Society. The bag, made from a single piece of leather, was sewn with sinew. It is stained on the outside and stained even more deeply on the inside with a red pigment. Its overall length is 14 1/8" and the width varies from 4" to 5 1/8".
